Day 1: Shkodra – Saranda & Surrounding Areas

Departure from Shkodra at 08:00 AM from Hotel X

Begin your journey south to Saranda, enjoying the scenic drive along the Albanian Riviera. On the way, we will make a stop at the Llogara Pass for breathtaking panoramic views of the Ionian Sea and the surrounding mountains. Take a short break to capture the views and enjoy a coffee at one of the local cafés.

Arrival in Saranda around 12:00 PM

Check-in at the hotel and have a brief rest.

For the afternoon, we suggest visiting Butrint National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage site, just a 30-minute drive from Saranda. Explore the ancient ruins of Butrint, including its well-preserved theater, Roman baths, and early Christian basilica. The park is surrounded by lush greenery and offers stunning views of the nearby lake.

Evening in Saranda: After your visit, return to Saranda and enjoy a relaxing evening along the coastline. You can stroll along the promenade, visit the Saranda Synagogue, or simply enjoy a delicious seafood dinner by the sea.

Departure from Saranda at 08:00 AM

Start the day with a visit to Ksamil, a beautiful beach town just a 15-minute drive from Saranda. Known for its crystal-clear waters and white sandy beaches, Ksamil is perfect for a relaxing morning swim or a leisurely walk along the shore.

Afterward, head to Gjirokastër, around 1.5 hours from Saranda. Gjirokastër is a UNESCO World Heritage city famous for its well-preserved Ottoman architecture. Explore the Gjirokastër Castle, which offers panoramic views of the valley below, and wander through the charming streets of the old town, lined with traditional stone houses.

Lunch in Gjirokastër: Enjoy a traditional Albanian meal in one of the local restaurants offering stunning views of the surrounding mountains.

Return to Shkodra around 5:00 PM: After exploring Gjirokastër, head back to Shkodra, concluding your trip with beautiful memories of Albania’s stunning landscapes and rich history.
